Who We Are

Husband-and-wife team, Kevin and Kathy Lee, founded Nor-Cal Seafood in 1992 after spending a few years as commercial fishermen in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, two generations of the Lee family, along with the Wong family, are running Nor-Cal out of the very same building they started in out of East Oakland. We work with fishermen all along the west coast of the United States to bring the freshest and liveliest seafood to restaurants and markets wanting the best product available for their customers and clientele. Products

All of our seafood are sold live and often by the pound (unless otherwise noted). Since we’re a wholesale company, we can’t break up boxed clams or bundled oysters. Meaning the fish and shellfish are still moving and wiggling when you get it — our seafood is never frozen. We work directly with our fishermen in Washington, Oregon, and California, while adhering to federal and local Fish and Wildlife regulations and sustainability practices. With that in mind, certain fish and shellfish are only available during specific seasons, so that means our product list changes day-to-day and month-to-month. Here are some of the products we carry:

  • Fishes : Ling cod, rock cod, vermillion, salmon

  • Oysters : Pacific, Kumamoto

  • Clams : Razor, surf, blood

  • Crabs : Dungeness crab (seasonal), king crab

  • Lobsters : Boston and Maine lobster

  • Shrimps : Spot prawn, tiger prawn

  • Other : Bullfrog, crawfish (seasonal)
